THE STORY OF CHICAGOLAND'S LEADING
"SUBURBAN EMERGENCY DELIVERY" SERVICE
Veterans Messenger Service is a family owned and operated business. Its
founder, Hy Factor, began in the Emergency Special Delivery business in 1964. He
became interested in the concept of instant response delivery while working in
his father's butcher shop as a deliveryman. So, with one station wagon and two
employees, the nation's leading Emergency Special Delivery Service was launched.
Hy's son Bill, became closely involved in the business as a boy performing
chores around the office, working as a helper on trucks and learning each aspect
of the business. Today Bill is the owner and President and maintains a hands-on
approach every day from accounting to dispatch to sales to customer service, Bill
is involved in all of it.
From one station wagon and two employees we have grown to close to 600
couriers and 200 inside support staff--we have three offices in the city of
Chicago and a 141,000 square-foot complex in Elk Grove Village, Illinois which also houses
CMS Air Express Service and CMS Logistics.
